Pep Summer Camp is not just about football. Despite the always attractive presence of Pep Guardiola, one of the best coaches in the world, who was with the participants of the Campus for four days, the boys and girls were also amazed with two very special talks, starring Tchacka Doumbia, a coach of Casal dels Infants del Raval who came from Mali to Barcelona almost a decade ago, and Alex Roca, an athlete with cerebral palsy who is a reference for the best athletes in the world, such as Pep or Pau Gasol.
Tchacka Doumbia left her family in Mali when he was just 15 years old and after a very difficult adventure in the desert and the sea, he managed to get to Spain. Already in Barcelona, he received the help of Casal d’Infants del Raval and in a short time he has become a highly qualified coach. His story of overcoming and integration aroused the questions and applause of all, among whom was a compatriot of his, Sama Nomoko, a player of FC Barcelona.
Alex Roca, accompanied by his girlfriend, Mari Carme, impressed all the young people with the narration of his sporting career, already known to many of the players. Alex Roca suffered a cerebral palsy a few months after his birth, doctors said he would not overcome it and today he is a reference in the world of sports, having finished very hard competitions such as the Titan Desert. His slogan, ‘You set the limit’, has become a life motivation for many people.
