Girona FC Foundation joins the ‘Cursa Montilivi’

-

The fourth edition of the Cursa Montilivi took place on Sunday, 26 April, once again attracting a fantastic turnout, with more than 1,000 runners taking part in the 5 km and 10 km races.

The biggest milestone of this year’s event was the involvement of the newly established Girona FC Foundation, which joined forces with the Guardiola Sala Foundation to co-organise the race. From 2026 onwards, the Cursa Montilivi will be jointly organised by the two foundations, strengthening their shared commitment to promoting sport and community engagement.

The President of the Girona FC Foundation, Nacho Mas-Bagà, was among the officials who presented the trophies to the winners. He was joined by Josep Maria González (CaixaBank), Adam Bertran (Girona City Council), Pere Guardiola and Laura Guerra, trustees of the Guardiola Sala Foundation, as well as a special guest, Valentí Guardiola, father of the Guardiola siblings: Francesca, Olga, Pep and Pere.

The winners, who received not only their respective trophies but also a Girona FC shirt and both Torrons Vicens and Noel gift packs, were: Omar Eliad and María de las Mercedes Martín in the 10 km race and Raúl Caparrós and Alex Henry-Buckely in the 5 km race.

Thanks to this fantastic participation and the continued support of CaixaBank as the main sponsor, €10,000 were donated to the ‘Casal d’Infants’ of Salt, the same beneficiary entity as in the first three editions.
