‘No child without swimming’, new project of the Foundation in Manresa

-

The Guardiola Sala Foundation has joined the Manresa Swimming Club and the Red Cross to carry out the ‘No child without swimming’ project, a sports and social program that will teach swimming to forty boys and girls between 3 and 12 years of environments with few resources in the Bages region, from the Center Obert del Casal-Ot. This project, which is inspired by the Red Cross’s ‘No child without a toy’, will be financed by the Guardiola Sala Foundation and will make it possible for pool sports to cease to be a luxury for the most disadvantaged families.

The program was presented by the presidents of the Club Natació Manresa, Montserrat Gomáriz; from the Manresa Red Cross, Ferran Sarrió; and the Guardiola Sala Foundation, Pere Guardiola, as well as the best player in the history of water polo, Manel Estiarte, and his brother Albert, who are also patrons of the Guardiola Sala Foundation. Curiously, the act took place in the Manresa municipal swimming pools that bear his name, Manel Estiarte Duocastella, since 2020.

Pere Guardiola has highlighted that this program “is a very important socialization tool” and Manel Estiarte the importance of sports such as swimming and water polo, which “provide discipline and responsibility at an early age that help in training as adults”.
