Last Sunday, November 27th, the first Cursa Montilivi in history has been held, with a magnificent turnout, since nearly 800 runners have taken part in it between the two modalities of 5 and 10 kms.
Thanks to this massive participation, 9,000 euros have been raised for the children of the Casal d’Infants de Salt. Pere Guardiola, chief of the Guardiola Sala Foundation, and Jaume Massana, regional manager of CaixaBank, the main collaborator of the race, have presented the check to the manager of the Casal, Mònica Gibanel.
The president of Girona FC, Delfí Geli, and the Councilor for Education, Childhood and Sports of the Girona City Council, Àdam Bertran, also took part in the awards ceremony. The winners, who in addition to the corresponding trophy received an official Girona shirt and a set of Torrons Vicens, were the following: Jordi Baixés and Merche Martín, in the 10 km race, and Miki Hernández and Sílvia Vilaseca, in the 5 km.
The winners have agreed to highlight the track of the race, which starting and ending at the Estadi Montilivi has alternated asphalt and mud and has covered the most characteristic places of Girona, as well as the perfect organization.
