The Salvation Army is one of the most well-known charities in the UK. For more than 150 years, this Christian organisation stands out for its fight against social inequality by offering help to those most in need irrespective of their origin, religion, gender or sexual orientation. The UK and Ireland Salvation Army forms part of the International Salvation Army which has a presence in 131 countries around the world.

In the UK they work with around 30,000 people including the elderly, those without income, those with drug or alcohol dependence and those without a roof over their heads. Pep Guardiola took part in the 5-a-side football event in Manchester with homeless people during the annual Partnership Trophy tournament. The football manager watched some of the final round matches from the sidelines and gave encouragement and top tips to many of the 300 players.
