Kalvin Phillips, a special fan in the Partnership Trophy

-

The 14th edition of the Partnership Trophy, the charity football tournament starring homeless organized by The Salvation Army in collaboration with the Guardiola Sala Foundation, featured a surprise visit for the participants: Kalvin Phillips, the Manchester City and England national team footballer. With his presence, the midfielder surprised the 214 participants from 30 teams from different Salvation Army shelters, just as coaches Pep Guardiola and Erik ten Hag, as well as players John Stones and Kyle Walker, had done in previous editions.

Kalvin Phillips was very attentive to all the participants of the Partnership Trophy, listening to their stories and encouraging them to keep going. He watched the matches and also posed for the traditional group photo. In addition to the Manchester City player, another English football legend attended the tournament: former defender Stuart Pearce.

From the Guardiola Sala Foundation, president Pere Guardiola attended, along with board members Laura Guerra and Manel Estiarte, member of the Manchester City staff who accompanied Kalvin Phillips. Thanks to the collaboration between the Foundation and Puma, the sportswear brand contributed by providing the tournament’s footballs and gifting each participant an official club or national team shirt. Through its official social media platforms, The Salvation Army publicly thanked the Guardiola Sala Foundation for its contribution to the tournament.
