This morning, the Aspasim and Guardiola Sala Foundations organized a joint event, during which the Guardiola Sala Foundation presented a check for 100,000 euros. This donation will contribute to the renovation of the ‘Puça’ apartment, transforming it into a decent, safe, and fully adapted home for the nine children with intellectual disabilities who will live there after being forced to leave their previous residence.
The event, attended by many of Aspasim’s children as well as their professional caregivers, was presented by the renowned journalist and presenter Manel Fuentes, a longtime friend and collaborator of Aspasim. The event was presided over by Marta Villanueva, Councilor for the Barcelona city; Víctor Puga, Secretary of Territory for the Government of Catalonia; and Carme Esquirol, Director of Territorial Services for Barcelona; along with representatives from INCASOL. Sílvia Paneque, Minister of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition for the Government of Catalonia, also participated in the event via video. The Guardiola Sala Foundation was represented by its President, Pere Guardiola, and board members Francesca Guardiola and Laura Guerra.
In their speeches, both the Foundations and the institutions appealed to civil society and local businesses to support the project. Despite the 100,000 euros contribution from the Guardiola Sala Foundation, additional funds are still needed to properly renovate the 300 square meters of the new residence.
