This Sunday, April 27, the third edition of the ‘Cursa Montilivi’ took place, once again proving to be a great success with over 1,000 participants—1,074 to be precise—in both the 5 and 10 kilometer races.
Thanks to this massive participation and the continued support of CaixaBank as the main sponsor, €10,000 were donated to the ‘Casal d’Infants’ of Salt, the same beneficiary entity as in the first two editions. Josep Maria González, CaixaBank’s Regional Director in Catalonia, and Pere Guardiola, president of the Guardiola Sala Foundation—both also participants in the 10 km race—presented the donation check to Raquel Ortega, Director of the Casal. Also present at the awards ceremony were Delfí Geli, president of Girona FC, and Àdam Bertran, Councillor for Education, Childhood, and Sports of the Girona City Council.
The winners, who received not only their respective trophies but also a Girona FC shirt and a Torrons Vicens gift pack, were: Sergio Fernández and Paula Fabregat in the 10 km race and Luca Ascenco and Ariadna Llop in the 5 km race.
The weather was fantastic, and all participants enjoyed a magnificent course through the streets of Girona and the surroundings of the Montilivi Stadium, in a race that has already become a classic on the Catalan running calendar.
